Is the Lamb have a place in the vacation Bible school?
How well do children know about the old testament? Would it be useful to include parts of it during VBS or Would it detract from the gospel?
One thing that those who work with spans of children will tell you, is that children today know less about the bible. If we will know why jesus have died (and not someone else), they will need to have a basic understanding of the Old Testament and the object sacrifices. The following method has been used in many schools and vacation Bible Bible clubs court, and has helped children develop an understanding clear of the Gospel.
• The Bible, God and Creation
The Bible is the word of god and He wants people to know who he is and how it is, he knows all, sees all, is kind and affectionate, and has a beautiful house. God created everything - from the angels and the big, blue sky for the people, and most tiny particle of dust - in just six days, without any tools, and everything was perfect in every way.
• Bad things come in the world
Some of the angels God has created has turned against him and sin in the world. People came to have sin in them, because they have listened a bad angel and turned to obey God. This sin resulted in death - the death of the body, the death of a relationship with God, and eternal death. This death has been transmitted to any person
• Trust, penalty, plan and orders
God has promised that he would give someone to take the place of people for the punishment of sin, but people had to trust that he is telling the truth. God says the penalty for the sin is death, and everyone must pay for sin by death, but he said he would provide a way for people not to pay. the God's plan for people was to show them that it would send someone to them, but until now they had to show their confidence in killing a lamb - he would die to cover the sins of the people. Some people do not believe that God's way would work, so they tried to be fairly good, but God gave specific orders to show them that there was no way they were good enough on their own to escape death.
• Jesus who He was and what he has
Jesus was born as a human baby, yet was Perfect son of God. He grew up and lived among men, doing things that showed he was the Son of God. He was crucified - the perfect Lamb (see back to the sacrifices of the Old Testament) - the one God had promised to provide, which could not die in the place of people and take their sins ever.
• Jesus' resurrection, his power and purpose
After Jesus' death and burial, he came back to life. Nothing could keep him dead. He came back to life so that one day, those who believe that He is the Lamb that was provided for the sin will be able to come back to life - but not to live on this earth again. Instead those who believe will come back to life and to live in the sky - God's Home - with him.
